Beads African Blue White Ribbon Glass Trade Beads Handmade Blue Swirl Glass Jewelry Necklaces Vintage Trade Beads
This a wonderful strand of beautiful Blue and White Venetian Ribbon or Lace Glass Beads. The beads were made in the
late 19th to early 20th centuries. They were made by winding molten glass on a hot mandrel until the desired size was achieved. Then the glass artist would add small ribbons of white and blue creating the many decorative stripes. This technique is known as one of the earliest forms of lamp work glass making. These beads were originally made in Venice and traded in Africa, hence African Trade Beads. These glass beds would be lovely in all your creative jewelry designs.
