This is a photo essay contains variety photography that Grandma Emiko is modeling her granddaughter Chinami's artwork. It also contains how to weave simply by using cardboard boxes. The book is written in Japanese. I translated and made a small booklet with it. This booklet comes with the book.
Emiko's words as well as Chinami's view of her grandmother emerge Emiko's life.
Chinami is a SAORI weaver. Since she started posting her grandma as a model for her work, she & Grandma attracted the world's attention. Since I practice SAORI weaving myself and teach SAORI at my studio, I appreciate the commonality between the philosophy behind SAORI Weaving and Emiko's principle; enjoy life without worry.
I hope people who follow @1000wave ( Chinami's account) on Instagram and people who enjoy SAORI weaving will understand where Emiko's smile comes from and get encouraged to pursue their own passion without worry.
My booklet is made with my printer at the studio office, however, I hope this gives people chance to know Emiko and Chinami more! It would work either way that you look at pictures first and read the booklet or you read the booklet first and see the pictures. I am hoping to visit them in Japan soon!
Wonderful book and excellent translation! 👌 ありがとう! ^-^
