Jasper Pendants have become a customer favorite, so I have thrown myself back in to the search for beautiful stones.
For the most part I've not seen any stones that were improved by intarsia. Until now. One of my sellers had a run of them, and I bought a few to see what people here in the shop would think of them. I hope that whoever is making them continues to do so, because they have an amazing touch and feel for the stones.
This stone looks like a Chinese ink painting of a pine tree in the snow - with sure but delicate brush strokes. The black and white intarsia surrounding it only underlines its simplicity. It is drilled from side-to-side, so although you don't see a hole, this *is* a pendant. It is predominantly black and white, but it does have that faint aura of pink that you see sometimes in Chohua Jasper.
When I brought this home, I noticed a crack in the stone, that I hadn't noticed before, being so overwhelmed by the beauty of the stone. I've lowered the price accordingly. (But I still think it's an amazing stone.)
It is 42mm by 32mm.
Buying and selling stones over the internet will always be a distant second to buying the stones in real life - being able to hold them and see the colors for yourself. No matter how hard I try, there is no way I can guarantee that the stone will look exactly like the image you see on your monitor. I *can* guarantee that if you are not happy with your stone, you can return it for a full refund.
