This paper is remarkably thin, with very deckled edges, yet it's really strong. It's composed of 2 fibers: inner bark, fiber from the kozo tree , which I cook, clean and beat by hand and abaca fiber.
Abaca is a very strong versatile pulp from the banana leaf. It's commonly known in the international trade as Manila Hemp and is considered the strongest of natural fibers. It is 3 times stronger than Sisal fiber, and is far more resistant to salt water decomposition than most of the vegetable fibers.
My handmade paper is only composed of plant fibers (not recycled paper). This ensures a long lasting, neutral ph paper that will last for ages.
