E.O. Brody Co was founded in 1958. Ernest Oscar Brody or EO as he was known in the trade, had the novel idea to sell utility glass floral containers to wholesale florists who would in turn sell them to retail florists. E.O. Brody Co was not a glass manufacturer (as other producers of milk glass). EO Brody made the pattern molds with his name and gave them to US glass manufacturers ( mostly Indiana Glass Company and later Anchor Hocking Company) for the actual production.

Milk Glass was first produced in Venice in the 16th century but first became desired for household display in France in the late 1880s. By the 1900s it became a symbol of style and taste in American households . MilkGlass was less a symbol of status during the depression but began being used and enjoyed again in the 1960s.
Vintage Milk Glass is enjoyed for use and is collectible today.
