So in love with these vintage, early 20th century inudstrial bobbins!
Often crafted by dedicated lathe workers in the mills, these wooden spools were wound with wool or cotton, then loaded into the shuttles of massive looms in historic Industrial Revolution American textile mills. They were loaded and reloaded, used repeatedly to weave all natural fabrics. By the time we entered the Post WWII era of polyester, lycra and eventually (gulp) spandex, the classic American textile mill was just a memory.
Display as living history craft room décor, shabby chic table centerpieces, or even as usable thread to finish a truly authentic vintage sewing project.
