A piece of Japanese Vintage Black fabric with Sashiko stitching on. The sashiko stitching is done by hands. It is uncommon to have black vintage fabric with Sashiko stitching on.
I do not find the name for the pattern on this fabric. The sashiko itself may be the vintage. The back of the fabric is cleaned somewhat. You may want to put the back fabric as necessary. Enjoy the beautiful brown color with dark brown Sashiko Thread.
Size: 13" x 12" (inch)
Weight: 33 gram
Material: Japanese Vintage Fabric / Cotton, vintage fabric.
Upcycle Stitches / Sashi.Co & Keiko Futatsuya are a group of Sashiko artists.
We usually make Sashiko stitching with a purpose, like making a Sashiko Jacket and/or a Sashiko Bag.
However, from time to time, we enjoy Sashiko stitchings without any purposes. Just for fun and enjoy stitching. In addition to that, we occasionally get a piece of fabric after we make a product. We kept piling them in a drawer, and we realize that there may be people who are interested in these fabrics.
These fabrics are good for repairing your garments. We offer some tutorials how to do so with Sashiko fabrics. It can be used for dining/kitchenware by putting the back fabric and finishing them.
*Our customer shared a nice idea. After trimming the edge of the fabric, then put it in a frame. It would be a nice wall decoration.
