Item details

chatelaine [ˈʃætəˌleɪn (French) ʃɑtlɛn]
1. (Clothing & Fashion) a chain or clasp worn at the waist by women in the 16th to the 19th centuries, with handkerchief, keys, etc., attached

This modern-day chatelaine is designed for knitters -- to organize your knitting accessories and attach them securely to your knitting bag.

A large bead (your choice of color) is attached to a sturdy lobster claw swivel clasp. It holds a key ring that opens to release a full set of Science stitch markers, folding scissors, and a row counter. The row/tally counter has a non-snag stitch marker ring on one end and a lobster clasp (removable stitch marker) on the other.

The 5-piece stitch marker set includes: a tiny 3-d microscope, beaker, planet (Saturn... or is it an atom?), DNA helix, and a handmade cherry wood square charm with the element, Helium.

The stitch marker rings are made of a solid piece -- there's nothing to snag on your knitting. They're attached with hand-wrapped wire to stay securely. The medium stitch markers will fit up to US 11 (0 UK/Canadian or 8 mm) knitting needles. If you would prefer larger rings (fits up to US 15) or smaller rings (fits up to US 8), just select them at the time of purchase.

All of my stitch markers are available for crocheters. They may be made with lobster claw clasps or French ear wires -- either are suitable for crochet. If you'd like crochet markers, just message me at the time of purchase.

Knitter's Chatelaines are available with any of the stitch marker sets in the shop. If you're interested in a different set, please convo me for more information. Please note: the large bead at the top will vary -- each may be a one-of-a-kind. You will have your choice of bead colors and stitch marker sizes at the time of purchase.

PLEASE NOTE: I work long hours at my RL job and that will affect the time I have to make and ship items. I have designated the approximate shipping time for each item -- look in the "Shipping & Policies" tab in the item listing for more information.

All international packages are sent international first class. Most international packages take 1-2 weeks to arrive, but if they are delayed in customs they may take up to 4-6 weeks to arrive.

Shipping charges are figured for 1st class postage for items that weigh less than 13 ounces and Priority for those weighing more than 13 ounces. If you'd like faster service, please contact me for adjusted shipping charges. The same is true with insurance. I would be happy to add insurance to your package -- please let me know if you'd like to pay for this service. Once you contact me, I'll set up a custom listing with your individualized shipping preferences.

SHIPPING PRICES: It's difficult to set shipping prices through Etsy's system and have them always be accurate. This is especially true with my painted china. If it works out that you pay too much for shipping, I would be happy to refund the difference. If you'd rather have me set up a custom listing with accurate shipping prices, please contact me. I am happy to do so. At this time, the shipping charges are less than it costs me to ship to some areas in the U.S.

Winemakerssister is not responsible for any damages that occur during shipping. Once your package leaves my hands, I can no longer control the handling.

SHIPPING DELAYS: I make every effort to ship out packages as soon as possible. But after the package leaves my hands, I no longer have any control over it. At that point it's in the hands of the US postal system, sometimes Santa Claus, and sometimes international customs offices. Unfortunately I have no other information than that shown by looking up the tracking number. Once a package is shipped, I send the buyer an email to let them know that it's on its way. The email includes the tracking number for the package. You can follow its journey by looking up the tracking number on the website.

Payment is due within 3 days. If you require longer time, please contact me to make arrangements.

I accept PayPal (preferred), credit cards through Etsy, and money orders. Sorry folks -- too many bounced checks. I am no longer accepting personal checks.

Returns & exchanges

I am proud of all my work and guarantee everything I make. I believe that you will be happily surprised with the quality of each of the shop's items.

If you wish to return an item, returns are accepted within 7 days in a secure package with delivery confirmation. Please send me the delivery confirmation number. Refunds are less shipping charges. Items must be in the same condition as they were mailed to you.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns. I would hate to learn that you're unhappy by reading your review of the item! If you are not completely happy, PLEASE contact me -- I want to make it right!!!

Unless there are extraordinary circumstances, refunds/returns are not available for custom items.
