Foolhouse Treasure boxes were born out of tireless retrieval of my Tupperware containers and shoeboxes that kept disappearing into children’s bedrooms to become vessels for much coveted collections of wishbones, shells, car-parts and so-called precious detritus that just had to be kept!
Made of Multiply and lined with a patchwork of colour, the treasure boxes are a tangible testament to the raw beauty of wood. Comprised of 6 individual compartments, they are perfect for separating all important treasures. The dividers can be removed too if the box needs to evolve to take A4 papers. The lid slides and is operated by a pull hole which can double to take a padlock.
I cannot put an age limit on this box’s usefulness for all your bits and bobbins!
Due to the natural materials used to make this box, there can be slight colour variations in the plywood and the appearance of the engraving from that shown in the photos here. Sometimes the timber batches produce a deep sepia engraving and sometimes a warm caramel. Ahh the nature of nature!
The overall box measurements are 332mmL x 234mmW x 93mmH. Internal individual compartment sizes are 95mmH x 100mmW x 65mmH.
Note: In some cases the Illustration has been photoshopped onto the box to indicate intention - as sometimes we work so fast that our boxes get packaged off to their new home without being photographed! The laser engraving effect can be more closely seen on the pirate and bunny box photos on the site.

Post-it Notes Treasure Boxes weigh 1.4kg. The shipping costs indicated are via Australia Post within Australia, which allows items up to 5kg and includes tracking so that you know where your item is at most times. So to take advantage of this postage, you can add any number of our other smaller items to your order and their postage will be FREE. The site unfortunately calculates postage per item but we will refund the difference to you within 1-2 days of your order as we do not like to profit from postage.
Orders will be sent to the address you select in Etsy unless otherwise noted, so please be sure that it's correct.
Foolhouse’s goal is to get your order to you in great shape so everything is packaged as well as we can. Inside each package each item comes wrapped in Foolhouse’s signature packaging. We are happy to send your order as a gift from you. Please specify this in the "message to seller" box during the Etsy checkout process. NB: if you do not specify that you are sending a gift in the notes of your order, we do NOT have a way of knowing that we are shipping to someone other than yourself, hence your recipient may not know the gift is from you unless you ask us to include a note saying so.
Packages go out twice a week, leaving on a Wednesday and Friday, but do let me know if you have a rush request and we’ll see if it can be accommodated.

DELIVERY WITHIN AUSTRALIA Items are shipped nationally via Australia Post, unless otherwise requested. Standard delivery time is about 3-5 days, once your item is ready to leave the studio. Add this shipping time to the in-house processing time for your piece, and you will have an estimate of when you will receive your order. Post within Australia includes Tracking. There will be extra charges for express, registered post and the inclusion of insurance. Just email us for a quote.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY All International Orders are shipped via airmail, the best choice for your package to arrive to you promptly and safely, for a fair rate. If you require expedited shipping, tracking or insurance, please let me know and I can provide a quote. Note that any additional customs charges are the responsibility of the buyer, and any purchases bought without tracking that go missing is the responsibility of the purchaser.
The ‘average’ delivery time for International delivery is about 3-4 weeks, however times vary greatly depending on your location, the time of the year, and your local postal service...and the main delay comes from customs at the border when importing your package. NOTE: We can NOT give you an exact delivery date nor promise that your package will arrive by a certain day internationally, as there are no guarantees made by the postal service. Unfortunately tracking information is not available for Standard International Orders. We are unable to tell you where your order is during transit- only the shipping date. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TRACKING INCLUDED _ PLEASE CONTACT US FOR A QUOTE - we are only too happy to provide this upon request.
Often international shipments are held at your local post office for pickup (not just dropped at your doorstep), so please be sure to check there if you are waiting on your order...often they forget to leave you a note.
Depending on your country, additional customs charges, fees or taxes may be due when you receive your package. These charges are your responsibility and are decided by the receiving country where you live. They are NOT included in the price of shipping. We mark all orders as "merchandise" and by law must disclose the retail value of your order on the package. INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS, PLEASE ORDER EARLY IF YOU ARE WANTING YOUR ITEM FOR A SPECIFIC DATE.
Some international locations, even Canada, can take 6 weeks or more to arrive in some cases...it just really depends on customs as well as the postal service in your country.
Express Options are also available if you need to rush your shipment.
Unfortunately we do not refund for any international shipments that are lost in transit. We do our best to ensure things work well on our end, but cannot guarantee the process once it leaves our hands, unless Tracking has been added at your request.
All shipments are made following clearance of payment. The status will be updated in Etsy so you know when your order's shipped.
Please note that Foolhouse cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged during standard shipping. If you require a purchase to be shipped with a tracking number or insurance, please let me know to ensure easy tracking of your order.
Payment is accepted via PayPal or via Credit card through Paypal. Direct Deposit is also accepted. Orders cannot be shipped until payment is received in full.

Returns & exchanges
Foolhouse would like to be able to make every customer feel like they are our only one.
If there is a problem with your order, or something you are not happy with, please be sure to contact us during the process or within 3 business days of receiving your order, and we will do our best to be sure you are happy with your experience.
Unfortunately we cannot accept returns or exchanges on customized items, order mistakes or change of mind. If you receive an item with an error Foolhouse will replace the item at its’ own expense. However, if the error was on your end, or as a result of the person ordering the item for you, a new item will need to be purchased.
We can exchange items however return and resend postage is to be paid by the customer and the returned item and its’ packaging needs to be in exactly the same condition as it was when shipped from us.

Our custom/personalized items may take one to three weeks to produce, but we are only too happy to keep you abreast of our time-frames and help you out where we can, we’re fully aware that sometimes we all leave things to the last minute! Usually we have all supplies at the ready, but sometimes due to unexpected demand, we need to order in and this can delay our production times. Rush orders may be available if our schedule allows, for an additional fee, time permitting- please don’t hesitate to ask, we will try to accommodate you where we can.
Please note: Because all Foolhouse’s Products are lovingly and individually constructed by hand, the finishing on some items is not as perfect as if done on a machine in a factory. Slight imperfections, in the nature of plywood and the engraving techniques can be found which we believe add to the rustic handmade character of the product. In the case of Treasure boxes this makes each box unique. We take extra special care to sand our Treasure boxes smooth, especially for children, but over time with the boisterous handling by the enthusiastic young, the treasure boxes may need a bit of cosmetic sanding with some fine sandpaper to reinvigorate any rough edges. Parental Guidance is recommended when sanding!
