2 skeins of perle cotton thread size 5 hand dyed with indigo and chamomile. Approximately 25 metres in each skein.
The skeins are very similar except that one of them is darker than the other. The lighter one is a soft minty green and both of them have variations with cream and pale yellows from the chamomile beneath the indigo.
The skeins are green, NOT blue which is showing up on my monitor.
Dyeing with indigo is a magical process, watching the thread changing from green to blue as it comes out of the vat and into the air is always a thrill.
The chamomile I use I collect from patches of waste ground around the town where I live. There's lots of it! Collecting the happy, bright yellow flowers in March and April really means spring is here and once they're dried they're like some kind of cereal covered in honey and really do look good enough to eat.
I pay great care to finishing and rinsing to bring you a product which is colour fast when washed at 30 degrees.
I love using hand dyed threads and I hope you will enjoy them too.
