I started making lactation cookies for all my breastfeeding mom friends who just had babies so they could have a quick grab and go snack that also helped boost their milk supply. When my friends kept asking for more I knew I was on to something and figured I would sell the mix so other nursing mom's could enjoy them as well!
I wanted them to be delicious and nutritious so I put in Brewer's yeast because it is said to help produce milk and increase milk supply. It contains protein, iron, b vitamins, chromium and selenium and can help combat fatigue and baby blues. Flax seeds are high in Omega 3 and aid in digestive health. Chia seeds are loaded with fiber, protein, Omega 3 and high in antioxidants. Hemp seeds are high in protein and rich in healthy fats.
These cookies are a nutrient dense tasty treat for nursing mom's and even a delicious treat if they are will to share with guests :)
