This bead is a bit wonky, so that's why I have listed it at a lower price than usual so I am selling it "as is". Instead of being a perfect lentil shape it's a bit thicker in one area. I was going for the effect of seeing rocks in a flowing stream. I went back to school at age 48, did the whole 4 year degree and now I teach middle school science, so this bead id less about the perfect shape and more about missing being in wild country.
I used Italian glass for the background and a reactive silver glass to get a variation in color for the "rocks" in stream. This bead has been kiln annealed.
This bead is a one of a kind, made by me in my studio in NE Texas. I have been making lampwork beads for over 15 years. All of my work is kiln annealed for durability. My artwork has been in Bead & Button, Step-by-Step Beads, Glass Line, The Flow and Better Homes & Gardens magazines. I have also had work published in the books 1000 Glass Beads, The Complete Book of Glass Beadmaking and I have been a presenter at ISGB's annual Gathering. Ihave taught in several states in the US and in 3 cities in Australia. (that was fun!!)
