Item details

One of several colourways to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love 1967, Aquarius evokes the free-spirited summer, floating layers of tie-dye and patchouli... This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius...

Beehive Yarn's ‘Audrey’ base is a blend of 75% super wash Merino and 25% Nylon. A deliciously soft and durable fingering weight yarn that is perfect for socks, shawls, garments and accessories.

One skein gives you 100g/425m

Please note that although I try to ensure that the product photos are true to life, colours may vary depending on your monitor or device.

All my yarn is hand-dyed in small batches and variations between skeins should be expected. If you buy more than one skein of the same colourway then I will endeavour to select them from the same batch. Due to the individual nature of hand-dyed yarn, I would always recommend alternating skeins or knitting from both ends of the same ball if you are concerned about colour pooling or mismatching.

If you require larger quantities or have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me.

To keep your items looking beautiful, I would advise hand washing in luke warm water and a mild detergent. Dry flat.

Whilst every effort is taken to rinse all remaining dye from the yarn, there may be a slight colour bleed on the first wash.

FAQs

I am more than happy to accept custom orders at this time; please contact me to discuss your requirements.

How do I wash items made with your yarn? Whilst superwash yarn in particular is often machine washable at low temperatures, I would always advise to wash handknits separately by hand in luke-warm water and a mild detergent and to dry flat. Will the colours bleed? All our yarn is rinsed thoroughly after dyeing to remove excess dye however it is entirely normal for hand-dyed yarn to bleed a little on the first wash, particularly strong colours such as red or turquoise. I would therefore advise washing items separately by hand and rinsing several times on the first wash.

Do you have pets? I dye and package my yarn in my home, where I live with two cats. My cats are not allowed near the dyeing process or in the room where my yarn is stored. Whilst I take care that my cats do not come into contact with the yarn and other items I stock, I would advise shopping with caution if you suffer from severe allergies. Do you use scented woolwash/soap/other allergens? I am mindful that many people have allergies to certain products and therefore do not use strong-scented woolwash on my yarn. Once dyed, all Beehive Yarns have a bath in a mild dishwashing detergent (Fairy!) before being thoroughly rinsed and dried. I do not use scented products in my packaging.

I want you to be entirely happy with your yarn however if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase please contact me as soon as possible. Refunds and exchanges may be liable for return shipping costs. I don't accept cancellations but please contact me if you have any problems with your order.

How long will my order take to ship? I aim to ship out orders within 1-3 days of receiving your payment. If in the unlikely event I am unable to meet this deadline, I will contact you to let you know why. How are orders posted? UK orders will be sent via Royal Mail First Class and normally take between 1-2 business days to arrive. Orders from outside of the UK will be sent via Royal Mail International Standard Delivery. Please note that this is a non-trackable service If you require a postage upgrade, for example if you would like a Tracking option, please contact me prior to purchase.

Will I have to pay customs or taxes? If you're purchasing from outside the EU, you may be liable for customs / import charges and a handling fee by your mail provider. All import fees and charges are the responsibility of the customer and Beehive Yarns are not responsible for delays if your package is held in Customs.

B-Sides - sometimes bloopers occur and here at Beehive HQ we are no different! Occasionally a standard colourway turns out a little different to usual but is still just as beautiful. these misfit skeins are offered up in the shop as B-sides. Rarities - whilst I love to offer my repeatable colourways in the shop, it is sometimes nice to let loose and try something new! These 'one of a kind' (OOAK) skeins are made available in the shop and are not repeatable.
