Note from seller

We're moving to a new home and I'm temporarily closing down the shop while we pack up and get settled in. I should be able to open the shop back up sometime in the beginning of May. Do you know where your wool comes from? Morning Bright does! All of the wool in our yarns and fibers are either certified humane and environmentally-friendly, or come from local farms that we've personally visited to ensure that animals are well cared for, and practices are ecologically sustainable. Together we can make the world a brighter place - one skein at a time. Morning Bright's products are hand painted by artist Becky Robbins in her sunny home studio in Maine, USA. All of our yarns are dyed and ready to ship unless they have "Dyed to Order" in the title (you'll find more information about this in the individual listings). We love to chat - if you've got feedback or an idea for a custom order, please don't hesitate to send us a message! You can find a list of wonderful patterns written for Morning Bright yarns and read our blog at morningbrightyarn.com Instagram at instagram.com/morningbrightyarn Ravelry group, Morning Bright, at ravelry.com/groups/morning-bright.

Item details

"Sand Dollar" - 80/20 Certified Organic Merino/Nylon Sock yarn hand painted in very pale shades of warm brown and gray on a base of pure ecru. This yarn was exquisitely custom millspun just for Morning Bright by a wonderful, highly reputable mill.

Why choose organic wool? Federal requirements for organic livestock production include:

•Sheep must be fed certified organic feed and forage
•No synthetic hormones or genetic engineering
•No synthetic pesticides (ex. no dipping in insecticides)
•Farmers must encourage sheep health through good cultural and management practices (ex. plenty of pasture time without exceeding the natural carrying capacity of the land)

I believe that wool from sheep that are humanely treated fits well with Morning Bright's mission to produce yarn from happy, well cared for animals.

Your items will be shipped within 1-3 days of ordering for ready-to-ship items (all items are ready-to-ship unless they are titled with "Dyed to Order"). Dyed to Order items ship in 1-2 weeks. IMPORTANT NOTE - if your order contains ready-to-ship and Dyed to Order yarns, I'll ship them all together when the Dyed to Order yarns are ready. If you'd prefer to have the ready-to-ship yarns shipped in the usual 1-3 days, you should place Dyed to Order and ready-to-ship orders separately. Please send me a message if this is confusing, and I'll try and explain it better :)

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE: my shipping cost does not include any duties, taxes, customs charges, etc,... you may incur from your own country upon delivery.

Additional policies

We use very high-quality, non-toxic, washfast, colorfast, professional dyes on our yarns. We rinse very thoroughly after dyeing, but there still may be some loss of color in your rinse water, especially with the darker shades. This will not effect the color of your yarn.
