Vintage Brown Speckled Set of Door Knobs - Skeleton Key - Bennington Style - Mineral Clay
This is a brown speckled door handle set for an old school door. Each handle measures 2 3/8" across and 2" deep. This is a very cool set of handles. These are Bennington style handles most likely made from mineral clay. They are quite heavy compared to their size. Each knob is dark brown and speckled (they look like a polished rock) and attached to a metal knob back. They are glazed and shiny. There are a few specks of glaze gone - very, very small specks - but mainly on the backside of the handles. But these look freaking cool! It looks like a stone handle!
Many old handle sets fall apart easily because the screws come loose and that when you get the "shit, I'm locked in the bathroom cause the handle is lying in the hallway and I'm holding the other half. With this set, there are three notches and one hole on each side of the rod, so it will fit various size doors. The rod has a very slight bend to it - I put this in my friend's door (he has an old school bathroom door) and it worked just fine - no issues at all! One of the screws is missing, but that'll cost you like 5 cents at Lowe's or Home Depot to replace.
This would be a great handle for a closet, pantry, or other door that doesn't need to be locked. It's a great piece that will give your vintage home a real vintage feel. Enjoy!
