Item details

This 1959 Midcentury vintage sewing pattern supply is for making a women's blouse, banded overblouse, scoopneck top, tailored shirt. McCall's 4896, in misses' size 12 bust 32, has two styles of blouses.

Printed pattern with instruction sheet. Envelope creased at corners, edges with some tape repair. Handwriting, doodles, drawings on front. Instruction sheet intact, pattern pieces in very good usable shape.

Misses' overblouse:
* left side zipper close, bottom band
* View A: fly tuck front, open collar, button waist set-in 3/4 sleeve gathered to band.
* View B: scoop neck, sleeveless, sash goes through belt loops around, snaps at left.

A more casual Midcentury blouse.

Because some vintage pattern sizes have changed over the years, I've included a photo of the size chart from this pattern. Please consult this before ordering, to be sure the pattern is the size you want.

YOUR ADDRESS: Your order will be shipped to the address you provide on Etsy.

TIME: I ship within 3 business days, usually by the business day after purchase. The shipping time listed (1-3 days) indicates when I will ship and does not include the additional time for USPS delivery.

CARRIER: I use USPS First Class packages or Priority mail for most items. For books, I use Media Mail, or First class if it's light enough.

DELIVERY: Please note that USPS does not guarantee delivery times. Now that USPS has closed some sorting centers, packages seem to move very slowly, requiring a lot of patience from us. If your item is time sensitive, be sure to purchase well in advance.

TRACKING and INSURANCE: I provide tracking and insurance, and you will receive the tracking link from an Etsy email. If you have any questions or concerns about tracking or delivery, please contact me.

COMBINED SHIPPING: I will gladly combine shipping for purchases of more than one item, going to the same address, from my shop. If the shipping you pay is $1 more than you owe, I will refund the overpayment. Or you can contact me with your zip code before purchasing multiple items, and I can set up a special listing that will charge the exact amount.
Please note that only books, magazines, and pamphlets can be shipped Media Mail, so that option is not available for other items.

MEDIA MAIL: The special rates for USPS Media Mail are only for books, magazines, or pamphlets. So if you order a book and another kind of item, I will ship them as a Priority or First Class package.

PACKAGING: I try to package your items so that they will survive the rigors of going through the mail. I will include a detailed receipt with every shipment.

RECYCLING: I recycle clean packaging materials whenever I can (usually cardboard boxes or bubble wrap and large airbags). Rest assured that I will package your items to be clean and protected.

U.S. SHIPPING: At this time, I ship only within the United States.

PAYMENT: Payment is through Etsy Payments (using any of the methods above).
Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card or other financial information.

CANCELLATIONS: You may cancel an order before I ship it.

Returns & exchanges

RETURNS AND REFUNDS: I want you to be happy with your purchase! If you are unhappy with it for any reason, please contact me within seven days of receipt to arrange a return and refund.
The item returned must be in its original, unused condition; otherwise, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value. Generally, the buyer pays for return shipping, tracking, and insurance.

DAMAGED IN SHIPMENT: Please thoroughly inspect your purchase upon receipt and contact me immediately if an item is damaged, so that we can file a claim.
Please take photos of the damaged package and damaged goods, and send those to me. Also please save the original package and the damaged items for the PO to inspect. Having photos to prove the damage will facilitate the claim to USPS or insurance. Once the insurance claim is filed and accepted, I can refund you.

Additional policies

All items come from my smoke-free, pet-free, perfume-free home.

YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS: Please look at your email receipt to verify your first and last name and that your address is listed correctly. I ship to the address listed on Etsy. If that address is incorrect, the buyer must change it in Etsy before I ship. Please contact me if you need help with this.

SHIPPING A GIFT TO OTHERS: If you want to ship a gift to a friend or family member, please add that address to your Etsy account. Then you can select that name and address when you check out.

VINTAGE and ANTIQUE: If an item is 100 years old or more, I will describe it as antique. An item 20-99 years old is vintage.
Because Vintage items are at least 20 years old, they have been used or have been sitting around somewhere for a good many years. So they will not be in perfect, new, right-off-the-shelf condition. I try to describe and photograph any flaws or damage, including any smell. Keep in mind that some vintage items may have a musty smell, which I will describe. I will not sell anything with a mildew smell. Vintage and antique items are sold As Is.

Many vintage or supply sewing patterns in my shop have been stored for years. So whether or not the inside is factory folded and in great condition, the envelope may show its age in several ways: age darkening, fading, stains, or discoloration; handwriting or highlighting; store stamp, sticker, or sticker residue; scuffs, creases, tears, or tatters, especially on corners and edges; flap missing (since this was often removed by the original store for inventory and ordering); and old tape repair.
I rarely put any tape on patterns, mostly because I can see the damage it does to patterns I've inherited. If I do have to use tape (usually on an envelope that is falling apart and is unable to hold the pattern pieces), I use the removable tape (similar to sticky notes) that can easily be peeled off without damage.
If a pattern has any pieces missing, I will note that in the description and will set a lower price for it. If a main piece is missing, or too many smaller pieces are missing, I won't list the pattern.

Please contact me if you have any questions about any item or transaction.
