Elegant, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Missouri. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir, and has 4 glass lites stacked a above a single, raised panel.
Three of the 4 lites are old, wavy glass. If you would like us to replace the non-wavy lite with wavy glass, or replace all 4 with some other type of glass, email us for a quote.
Hardware: Except for a mortise lock, the door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door (check out our eBay store).
* If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with a solid block of wood, please email us for a quote.
Uneven Height & Width: The width and height of the interior side is larger than the exterior side. The door was unevenly cut to compensate for an old warped floor or settling foundation. We could cut the door to an even 31 1/5" x 78 1/4", cut it shorter/narrower, or even build it up to make it taller/wider--email us for a quote.
Condition: The door is strong and sturdy, but does have plenty of cosmetic blemishes including scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes (see photos). However, once the door is sanded for a new coat of paint, or stripped to refinish, most of these blemishes will be removed by sanding. What remains will be covered by paint or stain, and only appear as subtle "character marks."
The glass lites are fully intact and also in great shape with only subtle scratches.
Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
Swing: This door is currently set up to swing into the home towards the left. However, we could reverse it to swing into the home towards the right--email us for a quote.
Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, make molding, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
Too short or narrow? We could increase the height and/or width, email us for a quote.
