Here is my rendition of a nun's habit and I hope you will like it.
I researched various habits, of which there are very many, and I chose the elements that I thought went together best for an application suited to dolls. While I feel that this is very respectful, I also believe it has elements of whimsy that make it very appealing and charming. I hope you agree.
This pattern may not be for the beginner as there are no drawings in the instructions; only well-written directions and the usual pattern pieces. If you have the assistance of an experienced seamstress, you will probably be successful.
I have a background in design, dressmaking and tailoring. When my little granddaughter, Sydney, asked for a doll that was 'easy to dress', I pulled out an American Girl catalogue, she selected Kirstin, and I was off and running. So a few years and many patterns later, here I am anxious to share my wares with you.
This is such a charmer. I think you'll enjoy making it. The pattern is under full copyright and may not be copied (except for your own use), shared or sold. Garments may be made up and sold from this pattern on a limited basis if credit is give to me, Med Welch of Doll Clothes Patterns by Med1, as designer.
