Use this pattern to make a full-size felted Lily and its leaf. The flower and leaves stand
up using stiff wires. The pattern also includes instructions for making a no-stem version.
Yarn Requirements: Use a 100% worsted weight wool or a wool blend that will felt. Our Lily calls for 80 yards for the green stem, leaf and petals, and 45 yards of your color of choice
for the petals. Use beads or wrapped yarn to adorn the tips of the stamen.
Supply Requirements: You’ll need size 10 DPNs, a spare pair of straight needles (size 10 or smaller), a stitch holder and a yarn needle. For the stem you’ll need two 18 gauge, 18” florist’s wires. You’ll also need four to six 3.5” lengths of a green 20-22 gauge cloth-covered florist’s wire to make the stamen.
The pattern includes instructions for threading 26-gauge wire through each petal for increased
shaping capability, but this step is optional.
