Beautiful New York World's Fair " The World Of Tomorrow " 1939 Brochure souvenir book. Officially licensed by New York World's Fair Lic.2974. 32 pages of beautiful photos and information that show the World's Fair inside and out. Included with the brochure is a World's Fair Daily Map, News and Fold Out Guide. It's dated August 14th 1940, just months after a missed historic event. On the Fourth of July in 1940 a time bomb planted in the British Pavilion at the New York World's Fair of 1939-40. After it was carried to a remote area, two bomb squad detectives, Joe Lynch and Freddy Socha, tried to defuse it. The bomb went off in their faces, killing them instantly. It was a tragedy, but it could have been worse. Police Commissioner Lewis Valentine noted that it was only a miracle that hundreds of fairgoers weren't killed. A dynamic duo of ephemera for any collector.

Please view all photos carefully and make your own decision regarding condition. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Each one of our vintage items are carefully curated from around the country. Most items are in used, pre-owned vintage condition and sometimes show evidence of wear and age such as light scratches, scuffs, surface rust and dents/dings consistent with its age and use . We try our best to hold the original value and character of each item. Items are lightly cleaned/dusted but may need a good cleaning or polishing as desired. Some items we do not heavily clean for fear of damaging the surface, or removing the patina, etc. Items are packaged with great care to assure that they arrive undamaged. Please review pictures carefully and ask any questions before bidding or buying. I will be more than happy to answer any questions.

*A note about buying vintage: All items in our shop are vintage, which in most terminology means they are more than 20 years old. All items considered Antique mean the item is at least 100 years old.
