Item details

This is for those warriors that may have more time, or desire to have more control over the look, and feel of their armor. Also, as an added bonus as there is less work for me to do the savings is passed onto you.

These samurai armor kits include the plates for the
Do, (Chest, front, and back)
Sode, (shoulders), Kusazuri (tassets, skirt that covers hips),
And now the Haidate, ( the skirt/apron that has thigh plates built onto it.)
Also, a package of flat nylon lacing of a color you choose (availability depending). And a pint of Angelus leather dye also of a color you specify.

All the plates are resized to your sizing specifications, and then precision cut out of 8-10oz vegetable tanned leather as standard. For those of heavy combat activities that require heavier leather is also available but at an increased cost of the leather. The holes are cut to allow a standard, but simple way to lace the plates together, instructions, and examples are included in the kit.

The scalloped plates have some gentle curves at the top as shown in the pictures. As far as ostentation goes I generally do some simple tooling, and patterns to break up the plainness of the plates. Based on the level chosen, Plain, Bushi, or Samurai. The various levels have more holes for lacing trim, and more tooling options for those parts of the plates that are exposed. The plan is to add two more levels of intricacies to be added to the mix Daimyo, and Emperor respectively.

I do need your measurements, if you are curious previous to ordering, please message me privately. When you place your order I will send you a message with a chart, and picture for the measurements that I need. Once I have those measurements I will resize the plates, and get them cut for you. Also please include your desired lacing color, and desired dye color.

In stock items ordered Monday through Thursday before 4pm PST should ship in 1-2 days but will NOT ship before your payment has cleared.

In stock items ordered after 11am PST, on Fridays may not ship until the following Monday. I am often on my way to various festivals, or other events by noon.

Made to order, and custom items typically take 6-8 weeks to complete please be patient.

I will ship internationally, please contact me privately for desired destination. Until I can figure out, and master etsy's shipping profile madness I will go around it. When inquiring as to if, and when I can ship to you please include your full shipping address so I can manage the calculations.

Payments

For in stock items the full balance of the item is due, and the item will not ship until payment has cleared regardless of how fast you need it.

For Made to order items, the full balance of the item is due at time of purchase, and construction of the item will NOT start until the payment has cleared. Rush orders will incur an additional cost.

For custom orders, 50% of the total amount is due upon agreement, and work will not begin until that 50% deposit clears. Furthermore this deposit is non-refundable as that cost is going towards materials, and consumables that cannot be returned. The rest of the balance is due prior to the shipping of the completed piece.

Additional return information
I want to keep my customers happy, but I also have to eat, and pay bills, and my time is no less valuable than yours. If you ask for a refund within 24 hours of your order, I will refund the full amount, no harm no foul. If you ask for a refund 48 hours or after it is likely that some of the money has gone to the purchase of the necessary materials for your order. If this is the case I will refund the difference to you, and provide you with a copy of the receipt for everyone's mental health. If you were to order something on Friday, then ask for a refund Monday you would most surely get your full amount refunded.

Cancellations within 48 hours of the initial order is not an issue, after the initial 48 hours a fee will be charged depending on the nature of the piece. For smaller orders, single pieces, and regularly stocked items there is a 20% fee due to costs accrued by me for materials.

For private orders, commissions, and full suits of armor, You have 1 week/5 business days to cancel your order without penalty. However, after that time, a penalty of 50% of total cost is non refundable as that has gone to purchase materials that cannot be returned to the manufacturer, and/or have already been cut to your specifications.

Additional policies

Commission pieces are available from Asphodels Attic. These pieces are made to order and based on a concept, idea, design by you, that is then brought to life by the shop. For best results, an idea concept, and design, including desired color(s), should be brought up in an initial contact request. Please include contact information as live chat, and/or email/phone are much more efficient conversation methods to discuss details.

For Tooling prices, quotes, and questions please contact me. I generally price at 60.00 an hour for custom carving, and tooling. Some designs are easier, and quicker than others. The more complicated the more time consuming.

White designs.
White leather does exist, and is incredibly expensive, and difficult to procure. I generally do not advise white for a myriad of different reasons. Cost, and keeping said leather clean are chief among these reasons. Asking for white skulls, or highlights on custom armor pieces is a bit more realistic. White has to be painted on, and requires multiple coats with a base in order to look presentable. Asking for white on large scale designs will add significant cost to the piece

Sizing for Made to order items.

When measuring yourself, please wear some clothing, like sweats, and or a sweatshirt. if you take your measurements while wearing under armor, or while you are nekkid, then the armor you receive may not fit when you put on your winter clothing. Making armor smaller is easier, but much harder to add. Measure twice cut once!
