Item details

Filigree is an ancient practice of metalwork . It dates back to the 24th century BCE ! (though , still not quiet as old as lost wax casting . ) Filigree was used in fine jewelry and other metal arts , and these buttons truly show off the quintessential filigree look . You can see the small circles surrounded by tinier beads , which imitates the filum , or beads , and the solder ; together which make up the filigree process .

These buttons would work nicely for a lightweight cote or shirt , as they are plastic . The shiny finish gives them a silver , or pewter look but they are much less expensive and much lighter to boot !

These filigree - imitation buttons come in a set of 5 . They measure 5/8 inch ( Ligne 22 or 14.5mm ) .

FAQs

I do not currently have wholesale products, as most of the pieces I sell are unique and one-of-a-kind. The quantity of items posted are all I have in my inventory. I try to cater to those who work on a smaller, individual project scale. My customers are typically looking for that one button or that one pattern to complete their costume. My products are all backed with research and documentation as to their historicity, so customers can decide which item might be best suited for their historical project.
