This is a lot of 16 wonderful antique Victorian picture buttons dating from c.1890-1900. These are NBS Small to Medium and are made of brass with some tin backgrounds. These are all extra fancy picture buttons.
This group includes: A stag with branches A star A Roman soldier A crouching deer Crossed flags A heraldic shield topped by a griffin An inlaid celluloid star A horseshoe with red tint A swastika, from a time when this was still a good luck symbol, and not a symbol of hate "The Trumpeter of Krakow" A lion Another horseshoe A rider with a flag, on a horse An anchor Three masks And an Axe, this last button is carved tagua nut (vegetable ivory)
Black lacquered, and tin backs. Loop shanks and self shanks. They are gorgeous ornate multi layered buttons!
These range from 7/16" to 13/16", NBS Small to Medium.
The condition is good with a little wear, light wear typical of their age, please click on Zoom for a closer look.
I have not attempted to clean any of the buttons I will be listing the next few weeks, so some are a bit dusty or may have a touch of rust on the backs.
Ideal to use for jewelry projects such as button bracelets, as well as assemblage and altered art.
I ship via Canada Post, usually using their reasonably priced Small Packet service. Note that this shipping method DOES NOT include insurance or tracking. Other insured or tracked options are available but are more costly, including Tracked Packet and various Package services. Inquire and I will do my best to help you.
I ship twice during the week, almost always on Tuesdays and Fridays. There is no shipping pickup available here on Saturday or Sunday.
