Item details

Balloon Ride is a stylized, pictorial design depicting floating hot-air balloons. A single floating balloon is created from two blocks, each measuring 8-inches square when finished. The upper Bag Block and the lower Basket Block are each constructed from five pieces of fabric, and the Basket Block includes five lines of topstitching to represent the rigging that connects the bag to the basket. Balloon Ride is a very simple design to cut and sew, and there are at least two layout approaches that can be used with this design.

This 4-page PDF pattern includes many colored diagrams, detailed instructions, layout approaches, fabric selection tips and a chart of pieces to cut for each block—everything you need to successfully create a beautiful quilt project with your own special touch.

When you purchase this pattern, you will also receive my free 5-page PDF tool for calculating yardage, shown in the last product image. This Yardage Calculator will not only guide you in determining your yardage requirements, but it will also guide you in cutting pieces for your quilt from strips. You can use this tool with any quilt pattern, not just with my designs.
