This stunning piece of fabric is from an unused bolt of vintage Japanese silk kimono fabric that I think was intended for use as an obi or kimono belt. The condition is very good vintage. This fabric features lovely modernesque cranes in red, white and patterned designs against a background that includes kazumi (haze) and a sky pattern. It is not as heavy as upholstery fabric - which obi fabric often is - and has a nice drape. Kimono and obi fabrics come in 14" wide bolts.
This is likely a late-Showa fabric (probably 1960's-1970's) or possibly newer.
This is 14" wide; Price is for a single 36" piece but I have more available and can cut longer pieces for you upon request. I discount $1/yd for multiple purchases.
Colors may vary slightly depending on the monitor.
I can fit about 8-10 yards of fabric in a flat rate medium box for $11.30 to US locations, and about 3 - 4 yards of this in a $6 flat rate envelope (unless there are heavier obi fabrics included in your order), so if you want to combine shipping with any of my other fabrics let me know & I'll arrange that for you.
