Even if you don't, these are wonderful small collectible items.
Used for mending holes in socks, etc. They can come in a variety of styles, colors, and designs. They always feel wonderful in your hand.
This is a fun one--very "industrial" with its removable metal "collar." This component has a 1909 patent date on it. I believe that it was used to secure the fabric of the mended piece, over the surface of the egg.
Lovely black paint--beautiful ebony color. Fluted turned handle. See photos for condition and detail!
Piece measures 4.5" tall x 2" in diameter.
These are lovely in a bowl or vase, grouped. In a shadowbox with other vintage notions. Or gift it to your favorite seamstress or tailor.
Or, heck--use it as a darning egg. Make Do and Mend!
And don't forget kids! I always combine shipping on multiples purchases.
