A twisted weave resulting in a zig zag design in a very dark brown - almost black.
We distinguish these "fancy" ones because of their unusual weave, color, braiding, age, size, or something else! These lovely decorative ties can be found on many vintage women's haori jackets. They are created on a special loom with a macrame or braiding technique.
Typically six to seven inches long. The pictures are taken on a one inch grid to help you estimate himo length. They might be flat or rounded, soft or stiff, and often have a tasseled end -- but sometimes something uniquely different.
Modern uses include bookmarks, zipper pulls, key chains, and more!
We do our best not to include himo with obvious blemishes or damage but they are not pristine - signs of wear and light use are possible.
