Fantastic antique stained glass panels, circa 1900s. Light green/yellow in colour; one has a lovely wriggly texture to one side that reminds me of river water, the other is heavy with tiny air bubbles. Perfect for solder glass jewelry or intact as panels in assemblage and mixed media art or the beginnings of a new stained glass piece.
Listing price is for both pieces as seen above. Will be well packed, refund or store credit (whatever you prefer) given for breakage.
Each piece is about 7 inches wide and 2.5 inches high.
History time! These came from a hotel built in 1908 (see last image of it as it was built) and heart-breakingly torn down in 1985 for no exact reason anyone can give - a fire and improving roadworks are the two more common excuses. It was heritage listed too, despite modifications to the original facade.
Still, small pieces survive thanks to my father and his brothers, including these few scraps of coloured glass from the interior panels of the main eatery. I've kept some 'bulls eyes' for my own jewelry but I'll never get around to using this, so I offer it for others.
