This Cat pouch pattern is an easy sew up for beginners to advanced sewists. You can sew up a nice sized pouch with this pattern or add the tabs and a strap and make a little cat purse.
The pattern is simple to follow with lots of photographs to go along with the written instructions. A complete supply list starts the pattern off, followed by a full cut list of the pieces needed. From there you will follow the 24 color photos that accompany the extensive written instructions.
Skill level is intermediate to advanced. Knowing how to sew a zipper in is helpful, although I did have one pattern tester who this was her first zipper.
Materials: - Pattern (7 pieces) - Main Fabric ¼yd (Outside of Pouch) - Lining ¼yd or fat quarter ( Inside of pouch) - Coordinating fabrics for face insert and ears (could use a scrap as small as 8” x8”) - Wool felt (very small scrap is fine for eyes and nose) - Fusible lightweight Interfacing 1yd - I like Pellon SF101 - 9” zipper, can be longer and cut to size but 9” works perfectly. Metal zippers work fine, but a polyester zipper allows the pouch to lay flatter. - Embroidery floss – aqua for eye - Optional Strap 1.5” x 6” piece of fabric for loops and 4” x length desired piece or fabric, 44” works great for a strap for a child or young adult - Sewing Machine, Scissors, Thread, Pins, Iron - Optional Lobster claws or D-Ring if using when making the purse
