Description: The Wild Purple Passionfruit vine is a vigorous grower that uses its tendrils to climb supportive structures such as fences, trellises, pergolas, arbors, walls, homes and buildings. The beautiful fragrant flowers are 2-3" wide. The 2" apple-shaped edible fruit ripens from September to December and are high in Vitamin C. The fruit is used for making wine, juice, jams, and cooking. Regular watering is necessary to keep the vine flowering and fruiting almost continuously. This particular species of passion fruit is known for being more disease and pest resistant than other passion fruit species.
