Item details

This lot of 40 absolutely gorgeous polished turquoise nugget beads were part of a large lot of vintage stones and jewelry from a California owner. It looked to be a rock hound's collection (lots of mineral samples, loose beads and a few bits of old jewelry). This was at flea market, and I pressed the vendor for more information, but he really didn't know very much. He said he got it from an auctioned storage unit.

I spent 20 minutes on my hands and knees digging every last one of these beads from a very dusty box of mostly broken jewelry and loose beads and stones. So I know these beads are at least somewhat old. They obviously were strung together at one time, and I believe they are Southwestern turquoise, probably in their natural state (not stabilized or enhanced) but I do not know for sure. They are a vivid blue-green with black and brown matrix.

Size: The beads are very irregular in shape, and the size of the beads ranges from 24 x 16 x 11 mm for the largest bead to 15 x 12 x 7 mm for the smallest, just perfect for a graduated necklace. The combined weight of all the stones is 139 grams.

Age: Vintage for sure, but exact age of when the beads were mined, drilled or strung, unknown.

Materials: turquoise

Marks: Unmarked

Condition: excellent, beads are ready for your next beading project, or they are large enough that they could be cut and polished into cabochons.

I ship all over the world using the U.S. Postal Service! My usual method for domestic (U.S.) shipping is First Class with Delivery Confirmation for items under 1 pound. For heavier items I use Priority Mail. For international shipments I use First Class International or Priority (depending on weight). I use "Calculated shipping" on almost all orders, so you pay something close to the actual cost. If my actual cost ends up being less than you paid ($2 or more difference) I will promptly refund the difference. I do not make a profit on shipping.

You can opt for Priority Mail Express if you need something fast.

Returns & exchanges

I accept returns for any reason and I adhere to Etsy's standard return policy. In the unlikely event something arrives damaged I will of course issue a full refund. However, I do sometimes request that you return the item, even if it is damaged (I will pay for return shipping), or I might request that you take photos of the damaged item and the packaging, which I will need to make an insurance claim.
