A small wu lou carving in nephrite jade, great for bracelets, necklaces or talismans.
Also called a calabash or gourd, the premise of this object it that it holds good stuff (luck, positive energy, etc.) and keeps it for your mindful contemplation, an idea based on the history of the calabash, or vegetable gourd, which has for centuries been dried out used as a vessel for all sorts of medicines in many different cultures. Another theory is that the double round shape of the gourd represents the unity of heaven and earth. Maybe both these theories hold at once.
Colors vary slightly. About 14x23mm. Sold individually.
