We are happy to announce the Persimmon (Kakishibu) Dye Sashiko Thread by Sashi.Co & Keiko Futatsuya.
[Updated] I added the 3rd Collection (Dye Pod) of Kakishibu Sashiko Thread. Only a few skeins are left in stock. Not so many left in Japan neither.
Persimmon Dye is one of the most challenging dye projects for most dyers. It requires skills to stabilize the result, and the materials smell pretty bad. We, fortunately, found Kakishibu professionals and could achieve the beautiful Sashiko thread with collaborating with them. As the other Sashiko Thread, this thread is also designed for Sashiko purpose.
Persimmon Dye = Using the Persimmon Tannin = Kakishibu Kakishibu is a form of liquid (or sometimes powder) made from un-ripe persimmon. Squeeze the juice from green un-ripe persimmon and ferment the juice. The process is challenging.
Enjoy the beautiful Kakishibu Color. Updated on October 2017. We tried the second trial and added other 4 colors. We have the total of 8 colors/shades.
Since the outcome of Kakishibu Dye greatly varies from the sunlight and weather, it is very difficult to have the exact same color. We keep eye on the inventory, but there is a possibility of being in short. In those cases, we may ask you to agree to receive the most similar color to your order. For example, K1 (177) and K1 (179) is almost the same color with the same technique and the same condition. This is the beauty of Natural Dye. I appreciate your understanding.
