Sow indoors Feb-Apr. Sow on the surface of damped seed starting medium and slightly cover with a fine dust of the seed starting medium and mist water in. Cover pots with plastic wrap then place in a warm area with indirect light. Germination 21-42 days but can be irregular. Remove plastic once sprouts emerge. Keep well watered using a misting technique to keep from damaging small seedlings or dislodging them. Transplant seedlings once 4" + to larger pots. Acclimatize to outdoors and direct sun by placing out in the morning and leaving out for longer periods of time x 1-2 weeks. Can plant out once danger of frost has passed . Space plants 18" apart if planting in ground or 1 plant to a large pot if keeping as a potted specimen.
