We are proud to carry Griffin knotting cords! This company creates high quality, long lasting stringing materials and supplies. Their NylonPower collection is my favorite for it's strength and durability. A needle comes built into every 2 metre section of cord. This makes stringing beads extremely easy. Nylon is the best material to use as it doesn't stretch out the way silk cord does. This means if you tightly knot your mala now, it should stay that way!

This cord is perfect for: knotting malas, making long necklaces, knotting pearls and stringing beaded necklaces that don't need a clasp.

**To tie off the cord at the end of your project, you must use glue to secure the knot! The string is very smooth and doesn't securely tie together without glue. We recommended E6000, which we also sell in our shop and online.! **

You will receive:

2 - Grey/Gray 0.8mm Two Metre Cords with Needles Attached.

In general you will need one two metre cord per mala, so for this listing you get enough to make 2 malas :)


Mala Making:

To create a 108 bead mala, 1 two metre piece will be long enough to knot a 6mm or 8mm mala. For a 10mm mala sometimes you will have to use two pieces and glue them together. If you are simply stringing beads onto the string and using seed beads in-between as spacer beads (we recommend size 8 seed beads. These mimic the look of a knot without all the work!) then one 2 metre card is more than enough!




**************************Cord Thicknesses, What should I use?*****************************

When creating a mala you need to keep in mind the hole sizes of the beads you are using. Wood beads have much larger holes than semi-precious stone beads do. Also if you are using spacer beads some might be too small to fit.

No.8 0.8mm
This cord is perfect for knotting a mala with just semi-precious beads. The knots won't fall through the beads. You can also put size 8/0 seed beads in between your beads as spacers or knot lookalics. Beads that won't fit: most freshwater pearls, seed beads size 10 and lower, some 4mm stones and crystals.

No. 10 0.9mm
This cord is just slightly thicker than the 0.8mm which means its a little bit stronger. Better for malas that you think are going to be heavier or just for over strength to something that's going to be worn a lot. The knots will turn out to be a good size and not too big with 6mm or 8mm beads. You can also put size 8/0 seed beads in between your beads as spacers or knot lookalics. Beads that won't fit: most freshwater pearls, seed beads size 10 and lower, some 4mm stones and crystals. High cut semi-precious beads that have smaller drilled holes.

No. 14 1.00mm
This cord is thicker and better for wood beads. If you find that the knots are falling through your beads trying this thickness might be the answer. It will still work with most standard cut semi-precious beads, but you might find a few beads won't work. That is normal so keep that in mind when you are buying beads to buy a little more than needed just in case. This cord makes a larger knot so it would work best with beads 8mm and up.


DISCLAIMER: All the information above is generalizing! Each bead is cut differently from different suppliers and we are only speaking from experience with our stock. This is a general information sheet to work off of but you might find that a certain cord works better for your project than we recommended. We ship with Canada Post, but can always be upgraded to FedEx, UPS or other shipping providers if needed.

If you would prefer to ship with a tracking number this can be arranged as well but please not that the shipping with tracking starts at $9.00 CAD. Canada Post has made changes recently for US orders and a tracking number can only be tracked when its in Canada. This is why we don't ship with tracking on most of our orders as it's unable to track from door to door.

INCORRECT ADDRESS GIVEN:
The customer is fully responsible for giving the correct address. We ship quickly and to the address that is given. We will not refund orders that do not reach the customer because of an incorrect address/info given. If this happens we can wait until the order gets returned back to us from the shipper and either reship to the correct address, or refund if it has been too long and the customer doesn't need the product anymore. This is an unfortunate situation so please always check your address on Etsy to make sure it is correct!

We always try our best to ship in 1-2 business days. If you need something asap please contact us before your order so we can make a rush shipping listing for you.

We normally DO NOT ship with tracking as that option is always more pricy even for a tiny order and not always worth it. If you do need a tracked package that's no problem, kindly message us and we can work out the price.

Customer Deadlines:
If you are ordering something and you need if for a certain time, please let us know so we can determine the best way to ship it.

Contact us before we ship! Once the item is shipped, if it doesn't have tracking there is nothing that we can do to track the item or expedite it. If the package arrived to you, but not in the timeline that you needed and there wasn't a discussion prior to the shipment, than the customer can either keep the product, or pay to ship it back and we can refund for the products.

To add more to an order you have already purchased you have a few options:

Please purchase the addition products and pay for the total. We will refund you the difference on shipping.

If you cannot afford to pay for the addition shipping, please email us the items and their prices that you want to add and we will put up a listing for you.

If you have questions about items that are out of stock, or you want more than the quantity listed, please email us. We have an online store and retail location and normally have more in stock than the numbers listed.

Taxes:

You will be charged your allotted taxes percentage depending on which province you live in. For all international orders, tax will be added with your 'taxes and duties' at your countries boarder.

Cancellation:

We have an exchange only policy for our products. Once you have placed your order and paid for it we cannot refund you your money for the order. If you would like to use that money as a credit and get something else instead this is fine, as long as the items aren't shipped yet.

Exchange Policy

If you receive something and would like to exchange for something else that is no problem. We ask that all exchanges are within 60 days of purchase. The cost to ship the item back to us is at the cost of the customer. For the new item from our shop the cost of shipping is also up to the customer. If the customer is purchasing other items from our shop at the same time then the new item can 'piggy back' on that order and will only be charged 30 cents for shipping.


Returns & exchanges

Damages

All of our products are shipped in padded envelopes with additional tissue wrap, ziplock bags etc when needed. We make sure everything leaves our shop in the best quality, so if something comes damaged please send us a photo and we will refund you for the cost of the damaged item. So if you receive a strand of beads and 2 of the 5 beads are broken, then you will be refunded for the 2 broken beads.

Lost Items

Once in a blue moon something will get 'lost in the mail'. This issue will have to be dealt with on the honor system from both sides. Please understand that our first priority is to have happy customers and would never mark something as 'shipped' if it wasn't. We will ship out a new order to you if we have the same products in stock. This will be no additional cost to you, but we kindly ask that if you receive both orders, to redirect one back to us. Losses don't happen often so we will work together if they arise to sort it out then.
