Item details

These gorgeous little leg warmers have a sweet shape and a stretchy rolled ribbed edging that make them fit and stay up on legs so well. Perfect to keep your ballerina warm. And because they are knit in a round, they have no side seams. This is a perfect first project for a new knitter wanting to learn how to knit in a round. The pattern was created by a knitwear designer in Lyon, France.

The pattern is in two sizes, toddler (1-2 years) and small child (3-5 years). You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit in a round on double pointed needles, knit stitches, purl stitches, cast off, seam the finished work and knit in ends of the finished work – skill level beginner/intermediate. A pair, for an average skilled knitter, should take approximately six hours to complete.

Pattern may not be reproduced without permission of designer. Finished knits made from Madame Segneri designs are for personal use only.

A special thank you to the parents of little, 5 year old Jade for the photographs.

Materials:
One skein lightweight or 4-ply fingerling baby weight yarn
Set of size 3.25 mm (US 3) double pointed needles
Darning needle
Scissors

FAQs

I, unfortunately, am unable to design patterns or pattern changes for specific clients due to time constraints. However, I am always open to ideas to consider as I design. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your suggestions.

All product samples in the development process of new patterns are donated to the children of refugee families living in and around Lyon, France.

Unfortunately, the publisher from which I order copies of your books does not have gift wrapping available at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Knit items should be hand washed in cool water in gentle soap, agitated very little, rinsed carefully, hand pressed between white towels to remove excess water, laid flat and carefully reshaped to dry.

I am so sorry, but I am unable to do so because I simply do not have the time. Your best option would be to contact your local yarn shop to see if they have a knitter for hire. If so, you can then purchase the pattern for him/her.

The yarns I use for my patterns are only suggestions. If you would like to use the same, it can be challenging to find them in various countries (I buy most of my yarns in French shops, picking up random skeins I love as I travel abroad.) You should always start by calling your local shop, then searching online. I frequently find what I need for pieces in specialty online yarn stores or on Ebay. (Also a great place to sell off extra skeins once you've finished a project.) If you would like to try a different yarn, the best rule of thumb is to compare the weight suggestion and needle size in the pattern to the information provided on the yarn wrapper (or notes online).

Many of the patterns I sell were specifically designed to be simple, but this is not always the case. Please read the descriptions. I have carefully provided a skill level recommendation for each one.

Yes, wholesale items are available to store owners. Please contact Ravelry for digital downloads of specific patterns, or CreateSpace for book orders. I appreciate your support.

I am happy to consider it. However, because I knit for children, I only work with yarns appropriate for them (... not too scratchy, too fuzzy...). I also will no longer work with angora for moral reasons. Preference is given to all-natural, organic, or fair trade yarns. If you would like the opportunity to have a pattern created with your product, please contact me for more information.
