I was fortunate to attend an estate auction in Newburyport, Mass, recently; where a family who worked for Towle Silversmiths for generations lived. I have numerous pieces from this crazy fun auction; this fabulous vintage brass spoon mold is the first piece to enter my shop.
The rich history of Silversmiths in this region goes back to 1682, when William Moulton II (1664-1732) relocated from Hampton, NH to the banks of the Merrimac River in a section of Newbury, Massachusetts, where he became a Silversmith. This area of Newbury later became Newburyport, Massachusetts.
Towle Silversmiths was formed as the Towle Manufacturing Company in 1880 in Newburyport, Massachusetts, when William Moulton III sold the family business to Anthony Francis Towle.
I use USPS for all of my shipping; domestic and International.
I am currently offering FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING on MOST of the items in my shop; NOT ALL ITEMS. Any item that includes free domestic shipping within the US will have FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING or SHIPS FREE in the item description.
PLEASE READ MY RETURN POLICY FOR ITEMS THAT SHIP FOR FREE BEFORE YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER.
On rare occasions, I do use FedEx Ground or UPS Ground for larger items. If you would prefer another shipping method, please contact me.
All domestic items ship from Portland, Maine, within one to three business days, unless otherwise noted. International shipments will ship out 2 to 5 business days (depending on country) after the shipping estimate has been finalized.
I use new boxes for smaller items. For larger items, I use USPS Priority mail boxes, or recycled, clean boxes. I use new or clean recycled paper (no newspaper!), recycled bubble wrap, and recycled packing peanuts to pack your items. All of my fragile items, glass, and ceramic pieces are packed using the "double box" method which I learned from a fellow ceramics artist. These items will require a two to three day packing time, as it is a time consuming packing method.
Books are shipped via media Mail.
I combine shipping charges for multiple items shipped together to save you money. Occasionally items have to ship separately--not all items travel well together!
All packages are carefully packed, labeled and sent to the address in the Etsy checkout. Please make sure your shipping address on file with Etsy is correct.
If you think a package may not be safe delivered to your home, please provide a safe ship to address, or have the package held at your local Post Office. Should your package be lost or stolen, I will provide you with the insurance information so you can file a claim with the USPS.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS AND SHIPPING, PLEASE READ!! I use USPS International First Class or Priority Mail International for all of my overseas packages. I have done research; the USPS is by far the least expensive. All international orders are shipped with insurance and tracking. There are certain items I will list as shipping within the US only, either due to fragility or high shipping costs. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, PLEASE NOTE: I have no control over individual countries shipping times, or how long an order sits in Customs. I have had success shipping quickly to some countries, others not so much. If you live outside of the US and require your item quickly, please do some research on your end to determine how long it might take before you place your order. INTERNATONAL CUSTOMS DUTIES AND VAT CHARGES: IMPORTANT! Please research your countries individual CUSTOMS AND VAT charges before placing your order. Any additional CUSTOMS AND OR VAT charges applied when you receive your package is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. CUSTOMS AND VAT charges ARE NOT included in the shipping cost. If the package is returned to me with CUSTOMS and/or VAT DUE; YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND FOR YOUR PURCHASE. As with any purchase, domestic or international, shipping charges WILL NOT be refunded.
