Item details

The cable-swatch on this hat reminds me of the goo that covers portals to the upside-down in the Netflix show ‘Stranger Things’. So of course I had to name it ‘Demogorgon’! It is meant to be knit with small skeins of precious yarn; mine is knit with a gorgeous hand-spun which I got for my birthday. The pattern is modified from a Lynne Barr swatch called ‘laser cables’; I reworked it to be knit in the round and decreased. Lynne’s books are my favourite inspirational ‘stitchionaries’!

To knit this hat, you will need:
Approximately 103-130 meters/112-142 yards dk weight yarn (if you don’t have handspun, you would get a similar look with any dk Noro yarn!)
3.25 mm circular needles with a 40 cm/16 inch cable (size 3 US)
4 mm circular needles with a 40 cm/16 inch cable (size 6 US)
Set of 4 4 mm double-pointed needles (size 6 US)
1 stitch marker
tapestry needle for kitchener stitch and to weave in ends

18 stitches and 28 rows = 10 cm/4 inches in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needle
