Long Tail Pixie Baby Hat Knitting Pattern in 3 Sizes
PLEASE NOTE: This is a set of instructions, not the physical object. Once you have paid, you will receive an email with instructions for downloading your pattern pdf, along with 3 other files:
1) yarn and needle terminology and equivalents
2) how to make your own double-pointed needles
3) newborn photography and digital editing tips
Make this adorable baby elf hat photo prop yourself! (Think! Who do you know that's a knitter?) Actually, with all the videos on YouTube, there's no excuse for not learning any more!
Instructions are given for knitting the hat in three sizes:
0-4 months (for head size 14 to 16 in. / 36-40 cm)
4-9 months (for head size 16 to 18 in. / 40-45 cm)
Toddler (for head size 18 to 20 in. / 45-50 cm)
I specialize in clear, thorough instructions, and coaching is included!
You may choose to knit either the seamless, "knitting in the round" version, with a circular knitting needle...or the easier back-and-forth flat knitting version (sewing up a seam when finished.)
Both versions provide options for longer or shorter tails, and I also tell you how to make a pompom, if you would prefer that instead of the long twisted cord.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the possibility of the long cord getting wrapped around the neck, please do not use a hat like this one for taking baby out and about.
Permission is granted to sell hats knitted from this pattern.

I welcome questions about custom orders.
