Monet Garden Hand Dyed Vegan Fibre Custom Blended Roving 50 gr Spin Flora Art Yarn Bamboo Soya Flax fiber spinning batt No 170 Free Shipping
Monet Garden - Inspired by the MonetPetunia flowers growing in my garden this is a custom blend of Spin Flora vegan friendly fibres using dyed Bamboo top, Soyabean and Flax. For those who are allergic to wool or prefer not to spin animal-based fibers, but love a touch of luxury, you will love to spin this silky soft blend.
This hand carded roving may be spun as a worsted yarn or you may roll it into small punis and spin as a woolen. Many of the viscose fibres are quite slippery to hand spin, so I suggest that you spin with a tight twist and then ply together as a 2 ply or use the Navajo plying technique.
Bamboo fibre is processed into a cellulose pulp and wet spun into silky filaments. Bamboo is cool to wear as it has high water absorbency, and also has antibacterial properties.
Soya silk fibre is a protein fibre made from the by-product leftovers of soya milk. In a wet spinning process, the soya protein liquid is forced through a spinneret and cooled to produce yarn filaments.
Flax or Linen is thought to be the oldest fibre used in the Western World with fabrics dating back to 10,000 BC. Flax production was centred around Europe since about 500 AD. Today more than 80% of flax is still produced in Europe.
