Item details

Want to spend some leisure time with some naughty, campy, vampy, nudes? Say bonjour to our French postcard belles, poised to tease and please. We have faithfully reproduced the art of the exotic vintage postcard for your personal touch. Pin curls, pantaloons, and pearls await!

This can be as simple or fancy as you want. This can be embroidered with basic stitches, such as stem, satin, and chain stitches, and French knots. You can also create a more elaborate and textured piece with the addition of metallic threads, ribbon, fabric, or beads.

You will be purchasing a PDF file, downloadable upon payment. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to use this file. It can be downloaded for free at

Once you have downloaded the pattern, you can print this from your computer on an ink jet printer. Then, you can use a lightbox to trace the image or print it onto iron-on-transfer paper.

The download will include the pattern, a reverse of the pattern, and a copy of the postcard for reference.

This large image will fit on an 8.5 x 11-inch piece of paper. The watermark will not appear on the downloaded images.

An easy way to transfer your pattern is with Sulky 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch Stick and Stitch. It is the perfect solution for downloaded patterns. Print the pattern on it with an ink jet printer as if it is an ordinary piece of paper. Peel off the backing exposing the sticky side, and place the sheet on your fabric. It will stick to the fabric and you can sew through it. When you are finished, simply rinse the pattern sheet away!

It can be found on the Sulky website at and in many craft, sewing, and quilt stores.

I researched and adapted this image for use in hand embroidery. The pattern is for personal use only. With this download, you agree that you will not sell the pattern, either individually or as part of a collection.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to resolve any issues.

Happy Stitching!
