Item details

Custom-made fursuit or mascot mask base for SIMPLE character designs. I define this as a character with no "extra" features like horns. If you are unsure if your character fits this, please contact me before you order! See the photos for examples of my previous work. Additional mask bases can be viewed at my gallery: http://www.dragonfyredawn.com/costuming/gallery2/v/headbases/

I do take commissions for more complicated characters, but will create a custom listing after giving a price quote for the individual design.

My mask bases are made from upholstery foam and attached to a balaclava. They will fit up to a 23" head circumference easily. The basic listing is for a static jaw base, but you can opt to upgrade to an elastic-based moving jaw for an additional cost. This listing is for the base only - it will NOT include finishing features like eyes, nose or teeth.

Each of these bases are made to order. Please allow up to two weeks for completion. I will provide photos for your approval before I ship.

Shipping method depends on the item, but is always with USPS. Smaller, lightweight items will generally be shipped First Class, larger items shipped Priority. International shipments will go First Class as Priority is cost-prohibitive.

Delivery Confirmation is included in the shipping price for all shipments within the US. International shipments often include tracking but it may not be fully tracked once it leaves the US.

If you are purchasing multiple items, you may receive a free upgrade to Priority and a partial shipping fee refund if I can fit all your items in a flat rate Priority box.

Please be aware that if you are ordering from out of the United States that there may be duty fees associated with your item crossing the border. These fees are not my doing and are the responsibility of the buyer. Please be familiar with your country's policies before ordering.

Please be aware that shipping may at times be delayed for a few days. I ship orders at least once a week, so that is the greatest delay you should experience for pre-made items.

Payment must be received before I start work on custom art or send pre-made items. If you wish to purchase an item, payment must be received within two weeks or the transaction will be considered abandoned.

Payment is by Paypal or via Direct Checkout. I do not accept any other forms of payment.

Cancellations on custom work will not receive a full refund. A partial refund will be given if the work is started but not yet complete. The money retained will cover fair compensation for the work already done, as determined by me based on the labour and materials already invested in the piece. I reserve the right to cancel the transaction and give a partial refund based on the same criteria if the buyer proves to be difficult to work with or falls out of contact for an extended period of time. Any partially completed work will be sent to the buyer, as-is, provided they cover the shipping costs.

Returns & exchanges

No refunds or exchanges on pre-made items. Custom items can be canceled and given partial refunds at my discretion, based on the amount of work already completed.

Additional policies

I am open for custom orders outside of what I have offered here on Etsy. If you think I can do it, just drop me a note!

The copyrights to commissioned artwork remain with me, which means I alone have the right to make prints or publish the image (for profit or otherwise). Fees can be negotiated and a contract stating the terms written up if the commissioner doesn't want their piece to be made into prints or other format, but I will always reserve the right to display the piece online and as part of my professional portfolio. If the commissioner wishes to make a "no prints" agreement or any other form of agreement regarding copyrights, the agreement must be made before the piece in question is started.
