Item details

This is a vintage Kalart Compak Speed flash unit with an original bulb still attached. To use, it would require 2 C batteries, I believe. I am not sure it works, it's untested. No mounting bracket or connection cord. It's a great retro, funky item that would make a nice vintage decoration in the home or office of any camera buff. I also see possibilities for use in a camera inspired multi-media art project! Use your imagination. Even the round blue sparkly bulb is visually fun. The entire thing stands 6" tall and the reflector for the flashbulb is 5" in diameter. Back in the 50's you would have been a professional using this and shelling out almost $15, a lot in those days. This is a historical flash unit that many newspaper professionals used.
