ABOUT THIS YARN:

* These are NOT hand-dyed by me, the thread is already dyed when I receive it

* 3 separate strands wound together to create a 3-ply gradient as you work. They are NOT plied (twisted) like traditional yarn.

* There is a knot in one strand where each color change occurs (approximately every 72 yards). These can easily be worked into your pattern while you knit or crochet and should not affect your finished piece. Other knots may occur occasionally from the manufacturer. I try to catch and retie them, but some make it through just the same.

* Wound into center-pull balls. My preference is to work from the outside in, but either way is fine

* It does take some getting used to working with this yarn, but the results are stunning if you take your time and make sure to catch each strand as you work.

PLEASE NOTE:

* Be sure to purchase enough yardage to finish your project

* These are not able to be duplicated. While a similar colorway may be offered again, they may not be from the same dye lot. Please ask if you are unsure if a color is the same as a previously purchased item. Be sure to purchase enough for your project to be on the safe side.

* In some instances I may have small amounts from the dye lot I used left over and can get you some to finish a small section, but do not count on that, I cannot guarantee I will have them. Please contact me to check on availability.

CARE:

* Finished item can be machine washed and dried, but hand washing is recommended

* Some bleeding may occur, may be best to hand wash separately the first couple of times

* Hand washing also helps to keep the fiber from fading as fast

FAQs

Many people ask if a 3-ply color can be made into a 4-ply color (and vice versa). The answer is: sort of... The cotton used in the 2-ply and 3-ply Gradients is different than the cotton used in the 4-ply Gradients, so the colors are also different. I can try to make a similar 4-ply colorway to a 3-ply colorway I have offered, but it will not be exact. The other option is to make a 4-ply using 3-ply colors. This makes almost a heavy fingering or sport weight yarn. Similarly, making a 3-ply out of 4-ply colors will be more of a lace/light fingering weight. There is a cost difference when doing this, and I can work with you to let you know what the price will be before we move forward with your custom order.

For your finished piece, I recommend a light soaking in a gentle detergent or soak made especially for delicate items. Items can be blocked. As with any fiber, it is important to test if you are concerned with the color bleeding after you make your item. Test a small swatch and see how it reacts. Red and darker colors are always at risk for bleeding, so I encourage you to test any fiber I sell if this is a concern.

These will vary and once a color is gone, it can not be reordered. It is especially important to order enough of a 4-ply colorway if you have a project in mind. You can order solids of the colors used in a color way to extend the solid portions if you would like. Even common colors like black that can be reordered, may differ, depending on the manufacturer. There is not a vendor that I have found that offers a consistent inventory of colors in the weight used for the 4-ply Gradient colorways.

2-ply and 3-ply gradient colors can be duplicated. I am able to reorder the colors I have available, unless they are discontinued by the manufacturer.

Wholesale is available to yarn shops with a minimum purchase requirement. Please contact me to get details.

I do accept requests/suggestions for custom colorways and have listings set up for standard 100g balls of 3-ply and 4-ply custom Gradient Tied Cotton. I enjoy experimenting, I enjoy working with others to create beautiful color combos. As long as you don't need something quickly (I work full time and I do this evenings and weekends) and you have a sense of humor...I am pretty easy to work with.
