Pattern Overview: This pattern is reminiscent of the 60’s swimsuit patterns that were made of woven fabric, usually cotton, because that was all that was available then. Polyester was new but stretch swim suit fabrics for home sewers was non-existent. Although swimsuit fabrics are abundant today it can be intimidating because of it’s stretchy quality.
This fashionable swimsuit and coverup pattern is as contemporary as it is retro and easy to sew in woven fabric only! The swimsuit is two piece with open back and skirted bodice; bottoms have elastic waist and legs which are more fitted, not bloomer style.
The coverup, made also of woven fabric, has raglan sleeves with a hood and the whole thing is banded along the front edge.
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 14.5 inch dolls such as WellieWishers™.
