Item details

Now you can make your own unique rope and fabric creation using this downloadable PDF from The Mountain Thread Company, LLC! These step-by-step instructions are specifically for making coasters, but can also be used to launch your coiled rope sewing - bags, baskets, coasters, trivets, etc!

This project is suitable for sewists who are confident in steps like changing the machine needle, adjusting stitch length and width, and pivoting (confident beginner or intermediate level).

In addition to this digital file, you will need the following supplies in order to make four 4" rope and fabric coasters:

8 yards of 3/16" 100% cotton solid braid rope (available here - https://www.etsystudio.com/listing/273362016/5-yards-of-316-100-cotton-rope-made-in?ref=listings_manager_table)
1 heavy duty sewing machine needle (size 100/16)
Assorted 100% cotton fabric strips (about 2.5" wide x 44" long)
Sewing Machine*, Scissors, and All-Purpose Thread

*Wondering if your sewing machine can do this? If you have hemmed jeans, sewn canvas, or stitched through multiple fabric layers with your machine, the answer is most likely 'yes.' If you've tried to do any of the previous sewing projects and your machine gets cranky and refuses to play, this might be more of a challenge for you. But, since each machine is different this is up to you!

Coaster photos are for demonstration purposes only - we are hoping you make your own unique coaster set based on your awesome style and personal taste!
