This pattern is for a little cross-stitch quilt full of colorful hearts.
I design miniature quilts for counted cross-stitch. I mostly do geometric designs and crazy quilts, but occasionally I do designs for baby’s room, boy/girl rooms, kitchens, flowers, or critters. I try to make my designs very colorful and symmetrical and pleasing to the eye. However, you do have the option of changing colors if you want. Once in a while I take special requests. I usually do outline backstitching, but that is optional. It is not shown in all of my patterns, that way you can do a little or a lot, according to your preference. I put my personal stitched mini quilts in small matted frames and do a grouping. You could also stitch several (like the seasons) on one large piece of cloth before framing. I hope you enjoy my designs. If you have questions, please email me. I strive to the limit to make sure there are no errors in my patterns, so if you find one it's not because I didn't try hard to make it perfect.
My patterns are mostly all done in full cross-stitches, but backstitching around each section and line is optional. Choose the darker color in the pattern to use for your backstitching. Use two strands of floss for all stitches. Use one strand for backstitching. Personally, I prefer to do backstitching because it defines your pattern better. Be creative with your floss colors. If you want to use a different shade of blue or lavender (or whatever), do so. It makes your work more your own. You can use any count or color of fabric. Just remember that the smaller the fabric count (i.e. 14-ct. Aida or 28-ct., etc.) the larger your finished mini quilt will be. Approximate finished sizes and number of stitches: 100 stitches by 100 stitches. 11 ct. cloth = 9 x 9 in. 14 ct. cloth = 7 in. x 7 in. 16 ct. cloth = 6 ¼ in. x 6 ¼ in. 18 ct. cloth = 5 ½ in. x 5 ½ in. 22 ct. cloth = 4 ½ in. x 4 ½ in. 28 ct. cloth = 3 ½ in. x 3 ½ in. 32 ct. cloth = 3 1/8 in. x 3 1/8 in. 36 ct. cloth = 2 ¾ in. x 2 ¾ in.
If you stitch on 36 count cloth, you can frame them and put them into a dollhouse.
My designs are easy and fun to stitch. If you have questions or comments, email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) OR call me (405-892-7418).
