This blade mask replaces the standard protective sleeve supplied with the GB wildlife hatchet.
It is less bulky so slips easily into the pocket when using your axe for cutting.
Since it does not hang over the butt or poll of the axe, it allows the mask to be used when hammering pegs in...which is far safer than removing it altogether and swinging the sharp end at yourself. It also lacks the strap around the haft of the axe, which allows it to sit nicely in an axe dropper/holster.
Held in place with a sturdy snap, and saddle stitched by hand with rot proof braided polypropylene this blade mask will last for many years.
