Item details

Flash options for Polaroid 100 series Automatic Land cameras. Do not include camera.

#268 Polaroid Flash with 12 bulbs
Bracket with accessory shoe so you can mount your own flash - 2 versions, for 100, 250, etc., and for 400 series (440, 450, etc.)
Bracket with small electronic flash
Bracket with powerful Vivitar 285 flash

#268 was the only flash available from Polaroid until the 360 model. Fits models 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 210, 220, 230, 240, 250, 320, 330, 340, 350, Countdown 60 and Countdown 80, plus all the variants (125, 215, 335, etc.). If you want the original Polaroid experience, this is your flash.

The flash bracket, based on the Polaroid #268 flashgun, allows you to securely mount any flash with a PC sync cord. (Camera and flash not included.) Your choice of standard accessory shoe or clamp. The regular shoe is more convenient, the clamp is more secure if your flash does not have a locking foot.

Bracket for all 400 series, 420, 430, 440, 450, Countdown 70 and 90, based on #490 flash. Allows you to mount your own electronic flash. This bracket is plastic and not as strong as the #268 based version. It is best suited to small flashes, though I have used one with a Vivitar 283.

Bracket with small electronic flash gives performance comparable to the #268 bulb flash, without the nuisance of changing bulbs after each shot, or having to locate additional bulbs.

Bracket with Vivitar 285. This powerful electronic flash has a guide number of 120, four auto ranges and four manual settings.

Flash options are no longer limited. Use one you already have or buy as much power as you need. A powerful (guide number 120) Vivitar 283 will mount just as easily as the little Sunpak 133, providing more range and versatility than the Polaroid original.

The effective range of your electronic flash is dependent on the power of the flash selected. With a maximum aperture of only f/8.8 your Automatic Land Camera works best with fairly powerful flash, Guide Number 100 or higher. I've had the best results with flashes that have several manual settings, though automatic flashes can be quite effective so long as the background isn't extremely light or dark.
