Vintage carved bone purse frame with floral details and two lovely birds, one of which is a small parrot. This piece is drilled through with eleven holes for attaching cords for a wall tapestry, a bib knotted fiber or beaded necklace, or, if you have another frame, for completing a purse. There are also two larger holes, one on each end, for attaching purse handles or the cords that would go around the neck if used to create a necklace.
This is a single frame, not a pair.
It is off-white, a bit yellowed with age as one would expect. The carving is quite nice, more skilled than some. It measures 5 3/8 inches long. There is a good weight to it.
